Sequencer

Step sequencer is default sequencer view in Drambo.

Basic operations

Play a song / start transport

Press the Play button to start / stop the transport.

If pattern is selected and loop button in the Launcher is not active playback will start in song mode, playing one pattern after another.  Depending on "Start from first pattern" option in Launcher's menu it will start from first or currently selected pattern.

If no pattern is selected, selected set of clips will be played.

The sequencer will not run if the sync selection (BPM menu on the top bar) switch is set to something other than Internal and no external clock is present.

Configure current clip

Tap Clip properties button, to show clip config popover, where you can set clip length and speed.

You can set length of all clips in the pattern in the pattern menu.

Navigate / edit current clip

You can navigate and edit current clip in the sequence navigation bar.

Tap or drag to select currently edited area.

Drag right out of the bar to set current clip length 

Drag up to show context menu.

Drag bottom to remove selected bars.

Use LOOP button to loop / unloop currently selected area.

Entering steps - direct mode

Tap a step to enter recently played note or chord. (it's marked on the piano keyboard).

Tap and drag left/right to enter a step with longer gate time.

Hold step (optionally after dragging) and play a note or a chord to enter notes to this step.

Tap a step to clear note data.

Entering steps - auto-advance mode

Activate REC button while playback is stopped.

Play note or chord on the piano keyboard. Each time you release keys the new step will be created and cursor will advance. 

Tap RST/TIE (rest tie) button while holding keys to make step longer. 

Tap RST/TIE (rest tie) button to advance to the next step (add empty space).

Keep holding RST/TIE to tie last step with the next (legato).

Use UNDO button to remove previously added step or move left.

Live recording

Activate REC button and tap PLAY to start recording to the current clip.

When you record to an empty clip it auto-grows. You may turn off this behaviour in rec settings menu (tempo icon on the top bar).

If you want to record multitple tracks the same time, activate TRK mode on the pads panel. 

Editing steps

Select an area and swipe up to show context menu, where you can copy, paste, clear, transpose and shift selected region.

Select an area and while holding it, tap different step to instant copy/paste selection.

While step is selected you can add/remove notes by pressing piano keys.

Activate SELECT button to keep steps selected.  Tapping active step in this mode previews it.
